Boat jobs

What did we do since we became the owners of Simon Hendrick…

It all started ‘on the hard’ together with the previous owner, anti fouling and polishing, before she splashed for examination. We replaced the anodes and had a throurough inspection of the underwater ship.

We didn’t have to do major jobs, since she was well maintained by the previous owner, nevertheless we decided to do some refitting, since we are planning on living on board.

So here we go:

Replaced the rigging
Replaced the main sail
Cleaned and repared the other sails
Repared the sprayhood
Repared the heating system
Installed a watermaker (still in progress)
Installed airconditioning (in aft cabin) (still in progress)
Replaced the life raft (and changed the holder)
Refitted the upholstery
Bought a dinghy called ‘Hendrickje’
Replaced the washer/dryer
Cleaned the dieseltank
Replaced lines
Renamed her to ‘Simon Hendrick’
Added a new walkway (still in progress)
Invested in new electronical equipment as:
– new radar
– new plotter
– Starlink
– remote for the anker
– remote for the autopilot
– Epirb
Made interior carpentry adjustments to make practical improvements
Scubbed the deck 😉

And so much more to come probably!
But after this refitting, we are confident she will be our save home for years to come!
